At Allume, we’ve chosen to scale up domestic manufacturing of our SolShare technology in Australia rather than moving production offshore.

In an interview with PV Magazine Australia, our CEO and Co-founder, Cameron Knox, explained:

"It doesn’t make any sense for Allume not to build our product here."

Cameron Knox, CEO and co-founder of Allume shows the Hon. Ed Husic MP, Federal Member for Chifley and Minister for Industry and Science, around SRX Melbourne, where Allume's SolShare is manufactured locally.

He also highlighted the growing global demand for solar solutions in multifamily housing, noting,

"We’re not even scratching the surface on the amount of people who need access to solar in apartments . . . bewilderingly, no one else has created a solution that enables a single rooftop solar system to be shared by multiple apartments."

With over 2 million Australians, 15 million Americans, and 300 million Europeans living in apartments, the opportunity for SolShare to provide clean, affordable energy is significant. With support from a $3.8 million federal grant from the Industry Growth Program, we’re scaling up production at SRX Melbourne to meet this demand and deliver sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

In the full article, Cameron discusses how local manufacturing not only strengthens Australian innovation and supports job creation but also aligns with the country’s leadership in renewable energy adoption.

Learn more about how Allume prepares to meet future global export demand while staying true to its roots.
